Locals use TikTok to raise donations for LA fire victims

A group of street vendors used the power of social media to mobilize the community to help those affected by the devastation of wildfires in Arcadia, California.

Jimmy Medina Jr. said TikTok live streaming helped him purchase supplies and brought in generous donations.

“Through the power of TikTok, all of our TikTok viewers sent us donations… Through their donations, we were able to purchase all the ingredients,” Medina Jr. said.

A donation center has been set up in a parking lot at Santa Anita Park, where volunteers are helping those in need
