US President Donald Trump said he wanted Egypt and Jordan to receive Palestinians from Gaza, which he described as a “demolition site.”

Trump said that he informed the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah: “I would like to take over, because I look at the entire Gaza Strip now and I see that it is in a state of chaos.”

He said: “You are probably talking about one and a half million people, and we just remove this entirety,” adding that this step “may be temporary” or “may be long -term.” The US President said he intends to submit a similar request to the Egyptian president on Sunday.

Hamas has pledged to oppose any such action, and these comments are likely to raise the anger of the Palestinians in Gaza, whose Gaza considers their homeland.

“Our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip have suffered from death and destruction for 15 months … without leaving their land. Therefore, he will not accept any offers or solutions, even if good intentions appear under the title of reconstruction, as the United States announced.” “The proposals of President Trump,” Bassem Naim, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau, told the BBC.

He added that “our people also thwarted all plans for displacement and the alternative homeland for decades, will thwart such projects as well.”
