Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that all men in Poland are under military training.
In a letter to the Polish parliament, Tusk said the government aims to provide full details in the coming months.
He told SEJM to SEJM, “The efforts made,” efforts are made “to prepare military training on a large scale for every adult male in Poland.”
“We will try to have a ready -made model by the end of this year until every adult male is trained in Poland in the event of war, so that this reserve is comparable and sufficient for potential threats.”
Tusk said that the Ukrainian army has 800,000 soldiers, while Russia has about 1.3 million soldiers, and it wants to increase the volume of the Polish army, including the fact that it is taken to 500,000 from about 200,000 now.
“We are talking about the need to get an army of half a million in Poland, including reserve soldiers,” he said.
He added: “It seems that if we organize matters wisely, and I am constantly talking to the Minister of Defense, we will have to use many work paths. This means that the reserve soldiers, but also intense training to make those who do not go to the army full and medium efficiency soldiers during the conflict.”
Task said that women may also undergo military exercises, but “the war is still the greatest field of men.”
Poland has already plans to spend 4.7 % of its economic production on this year’s defense, which is the highest percentage of NATO alliance.
Tosk told Parliament that spending should increase to 5 % of GDP.
Earlier, President Doda proposed amending the constitution to make defense spending at a level of 4 % of GDP mandatory
The Prime Minister also said that Poland supports withdrawal from the Ottawa agreement that prohibits the use of antiviral mines, and perhaps also from the Dublin Convention prohibiting the use of cluster munitions.
