Hundreds of thousands of people are still without salad in Australia after it brought hurricane wild weather to the eastern coast.
Societies in southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales (New South Wales) began cleaning on Sunday after the storm caused a large -scale flood and turned the energy lines and trees.
The body of a 61 -year -old man was recovered from the flood water on Saturday, while 12 soldiers were taken in a separate accident to the hospital after their convoy was destroyed on their way to rescue operations.
The storm had weakened by the time when it made the landing near Brisbane on Saturday evening, but on Sunday, Prime Minister Anthony Albaniz warned against the local population against the continuation of the wild weather and the risks of floods.
“The situation in Queensland and northern New South Wales is still very dangerous due to floods and heavy winds,” Albaniz said.
“It is expected that heavy rains, the effects of harmful winds and coastal waves effects will continue in the coming days.”
The Alfred hurricane was hovering for several days off the eastern coast of the country as a hurricane of the second category before weakness in tropical depression on Saturday.
By Sunday evening, emergency services had conducted more than ten rescue operations in Queensland and New South Wales – most of them include people trapped due to the high water in their cars or homes. The governmental emergency service in New South Wales has been reported to receive more than 6000 invitations to help.
Nearly 290,000 properties in affected areas are still without authority, and energy companies warned of the residents that the power outages may last for several days.
Police said on Saturday that they had discovered a body searching for a 61 -year -old man who was on Friday after his car was arrested in the flood waters in Dorgo, north of New South Wales.
The emergency respondents witnessed the man who escaped from his car and climbed on a tree near the river, but the rescuers were unable to reach him before he was sweeping him.
In a separate incident on Saturday, 12 soldiers were injured in a caravan accident in Lesmore, about 200 km south of Brisbane, where they were on their way to save the recovery efforts.
Chris Mins, New South Wales Prime Minister, said at a press conference that the soldiers were still in the hospital on Sunday, and two of them are in serious condition.
“We hope a quick recovery for all these young soldiers,” he said.
Queensland police authorities said they had not recorded any death or missing in the state to the point of the result of the weather.
