Senate Speaker Donald Trump was interrogated to US Minister of Health, Robert Kennedy Junior, by members of the Senate in his first confirmation session on Wednesday.
The position of Minister of Health is a major federal government position that supervises public health issues, including medical research programs, food safety and public care.
Kennedy, who was skeptical in the audio vaccine, was asked to explain his previous comments on the Covid-19 vaccine and other vaccinations. He was also asked about his views on abortion and his views about the American food industry.
He boycotted his hearing through the shouting of the demonstrators, but he also received a high applause when he promised that he would make America healthy again, a slogan used by the new administration.
Here are five fast food from the first Kennedy hearing.
Throughout the session, Senate members put forward Kennedy’s previous comments on vaccination.
A group nominated for eight years, defending the health of children, is repeatedly questioned the safety and effectiveness of childhood vaccines, and still pays the claim that vaccines cause autism.
Kennedy insisted during the hearing that he was not hostile to accuracy, and that he supports mere more strict studies and safety tests for injection.
He said he supports the current childhood vaccination schedule and insisted that he was not a conspiracy theorist.
He told Senator: “This is a limited matter that applies to me to prevent me from asking difficult questions about strong interests.”
However, they blocked his previous comments, such as a quote taken from Podcast 2023 when he said: “I think some of the live viruses may avoid more problems than they caused. There is no safe and effective vaccine.”
He defended himself in the session, saying that his words were removed from the context and that he would continue to say “to all people.” But Kennedy said, the host boycotted him, Lex Friedman, who said: “These are great words.”
In the podcast interview, Kennedy continued what safety problems with many common vaccines, including the polio vaccine, later called the vaccines “inherently unsafe”, apparently quoted former President Ronald Reagan.
The main point during the opening notes of Kennedy and throughout the session was his criticism of the foods processed in the United States, which he said was helping to lead the obesity epidemic in the country.
He promised to audit chemical additives in food, and said that he would remove the conflict of financial interests in the American agencies and the food industry.
He told the committee, “We will reflect the epidemic of the chronic disease and return the nation to the path of health,” he told the committee.
When asked about the reason for being a great defender to prevent nutritional diseases, Kennedy said that this generation had witnessed an “explosion” of autoimmune and allergic diseases, as well as diabetes.
He later made it clear that he does not want to take away access to the food -made food.
He said: “If you love the McDonald’s Burger Cheeshes or Cook Falcon – that my manager loves – you should be able to get it,” referring to Trump’s well -known convergence of the American fast food chain.
Kennedy, who previously stated that he supports abortion rights, was asked about his position on this issue by the Republican Senate and Democrats.
Republican Senator James Lancford Kennedy asked whether he was planning to re -protect the conscience of doctors who do not want this procedure due to religious or moral beliefs.
Kenny replied by saying that forcing medical service providers who believe that miscarriage is killing to carry out the procedure “meaningless.”
Then Michael Bennett, a Democratic Senate member, asked Kennedy about his previous comments, as he expressed his support for abortion rights and said that governments should not participate in the right of women to choose.
Kennedy started his response by saying: “I think every abortion is a tragedy.”
He later said that he agreed with Trump that access to abortion should be controlled by individual countries. Kennedy pledged to set his most liberal views aside, saying: “I am working with the president. I will implement his policies.”
This position was scrutinized by the Democrats, including Senator Maggie Hassan, who accused Kennedy of “selling” his valuable values to choose to secure President Trump’s nomination.
Senator Bernie Sanders asked Vermont, a lawyer for a long time about comprehensive health care, whether he believes the United States “should” guarantee health care for all people as a human right. “
He replied by saying that he could not answer the question simply.
Kennedy put forward a virtual situation for a 20 -year -old cigarette smoker with lung cancer, then think if this person should have the same access to health care as someone who does not smoke.
Kennedy said that the smoker would “take from the pool” and indicate the costs of general health care.
Sanders then criticized the pharmaceutical industry, saying that patients in the United States are pushing more than people in European countries for the same drugs. Kennedy asked whether he was ready to “end this absurdity.”
Kennedy replied, “We must end this contrast.”
Later, Sanders asked if he supports children’s vaccines. Some of them are sold by the health defense for children, which is the organization established by Kennedy.
“Are you supporting these wings?” Sanders Kennedy asked, while displaying pictures of them for the rest of the committee.
Kennedy replied that he had no supervision of the organization and resigned from his position there.
As usual, the nature and tone of the questions often vary depending on any aspect of the political corridor from which they were coming.
Democratic Senators have greatly distorted his previous comments to combat the erasing, strengthening wrong information in health issues, and knowing the American health care system, including Medicare and Medicaid.
However, some Republicans focused on their questions on Kennedy’s invitation to remove chronic diseases in children and criticize the American food.
A Republican Senator in particular, Ron Johnson from Wisconsin, said that Kennedy was “an answer to his prayers”, and that he was “wonderful.”
Johnson was criticized for criticism for the wrong information to combat the Kovid-19.
With the end of the procedures, Mike Crabo, Republican Speaker, gave Mike Crabo Kennedy to seal his approval.
“I think you were well faced, and you deserve to be confirming,” Kennedy said.
Democratic Senator Ron Wadeen, on the other hand, was accused of Kennedy of providing “Word Authority” and cases of overcoming his preceding notes to combat Al -Qazam.
“I find that your presentation is not trustworthy and not ready,” said Widan.
The Wednesday session was before the Senate Finance Committee. Kennedy faces a second confirmation session on Thursday before the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, as he will face more questions from the members of the Senate.
The committees will then vote for his nomination before they can move to the entire Senate to consider it.
