BBC News, London
Hundreds of employees of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Country Administration (NOAA) have been demobilized in the last development in the Trump administration’s efforts to reduce the federal workforce.
The CBS partner, BBC, stated that about 880 workers – including the forecast – have finished their jobs on Thursday.
The cuts come at a time when Elon Musk continues, as the head of the so -called government efficiency (DOGE), by paying to reduce spending through financing and launch discounts.
A NOAA spokesman said the agency will not comment on the issues of internal employees.
Before Thursday discounts, Noaa had about 12,000 employees worldwide, including 6773 scientists and engineers, according to the agency.
“We continue to provide weather information, forecasts and warnings according to our public safety task,” NOAA spokesman added.
But California Democratic Congress, Jared Hoffman, said that people all over the United States “depend on Noaa for free and accurate expectations, harsh weather alerts and emergency information.”
“Hundreds of scientists and experts at NOAA have just received the news that every federal worker was frightening,” added a member of Congress Hoffmann.
“The fake musk mission is to bring vital programs to stop screaming. The government of scientists, experts and professional civil service staff and reducing basic programs will cost life.”
“Gutting Noa will do” basic rescue “programs.
The latest developments come days after the American government workers faced a large -scale jamming after the conflicting advice regarding compliance with an order supported by musk to include their work last week in an email or ending the face.
The message, which was sent to millions of federal employees, came last Saturday evening after MUSK was published on his social media platform that government employees “will soon receive an e -mail that requests to understand what they did last week.”
On Sunday, Musk said in some cases, “We believe that people who are not present or dead identities are used to collect salary checks.”
In a copy of the BBC e -mail, employees were asked to respond to explaining their accomplishments last week at five bullet points – without disclosing secret information.
However, the main agencies, including the defense departments (DOD), the health and humanitarian services (HHS), justice, the Pentagon and the Federal Investigation Office – led by the staff appointed Trump – who ignored the guidance.
Reports said that agencies such as the Ministry of Transport and Secret Service, the Cyber Security Agency and the infrastructure encouraged their employees to comply.
On Wednesday, Musk reiterated the suggestion that a number of federal employees who did not respond to an email calling for a summary of their achievements from the previous week may be “dead” or “not real people”, but they did not provide any facts to support him.
Talk to Trump’s first meeting in the Council of MinistersMusk told the correspondents: “I think the email may have been interpreted as a performance review, but in reality it was a review of the pulse examination.
“Do you have a pulse? Do you have a pulse? And two neurons. So if you have a pulse and neurons, you can respond to an email.”
Elsewhere on Thursday, a federal judge in San Francisco found that the group shooting of the test staff is likely illegal.
Provincial Judge William Alsup ordered the Personnel Management Office to inform some federal agencies that he has no authority to request the launch of the test staff, including in the Ministry of Defense.
