Moment friends abandon house as Palisades fire closes in

Tanner Charles and his friend were home trying to make his house as fireproof as possible when the Palisades Fire began to approach. They filmed the moment they were forced to leave, running down a street with many burning houses.

The Palisades fire, one of several in Los Angeles, broke out late Tuesday as strong winds gusted northwest of Los Angeles. The area already includes at least 1,000 buildings and has forced more than 30,000 residents to evacuate.

President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for California on Wednesday, which will allow residents immediate access to funds and resources needed to recover.
