The couple visited the Pasadena Convention Center where they spoke with local residents, including emergency workers who were responding to the Eaton Fire.
The Eaton wildfire has burned nearly 14,000 acres of land so far, and only three percent of the fire has been contained.
The Sussexes live in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, about 92 miles (148 km) from Los Angeles.
They reportedly took in some friends who lost their homes due to the fires.
