South Korea plane fire causes mass evacuation

The firefighters said that the Airbus plane had caught fire at Busan Airport in South Korea, forcing all 176 people to evacuate the plane.

They say that four people were injured while escaping from the Busan Air plane on blowable slices at the southeast airport on Tuesday evening.

The fire is said to have begun at the tail of the plane associated with Hong Kong a short time before taking off. Firefighters – who arrived within minutes – were seen trying to put out the fire that spread to the fuselage.

This comes less than a month after the worst air disaster on the South Korean soil when a Gigo air plane crashes at the southwest of Mawan, killing 179 people. Two people survived.

The Yonhap News Agency, citing firefighting authorities in South Korea, said that the fire on the Air Busan Plane Gimhae International Airport began at about 22:26 local time (13:26 GMT) on Tuesday.

He said that the firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident after eight minutes.

The photos appeared later showing the burning plane that is photographed with water.

There were 169 travelers and seven crew on board.

The cause of the fire is investigated.

Air Busan is a budget airline, its mother company is Asian Air.

Busan Airport is about 315 km (195 miles) southeast of the capital, Seoul.
