Trump insists US will take Gaza as he meets Jordan’s king

President Donald Trump again insisted that the United States will control the Gaza Strip, where he met the King of Jordan Abdullah at the White House on Tuesday.

This was their first meeting since Trump announced his proposal to take over his pocket and transfer its population of two million Palestinians to other countries in the region, including Jordan.

Earlier this week, Trump suggested that he be able to withhold aid to Jordan and Egypt unless they agree to take their Ghazan.

Jordan, a major American ally in the Middle East, is already a home to millions of Palestinians and rejects the proposal. King Abdullah said after their meeting that “Jordan’s fixed position” [is] Against the displacement of the Palestinians. “

But in his conversation with correspondents in the Oval Office, with King Abdullah sat on his right, Trump indicated that he would not turn into his idea that sparked global condemnation when he unveiled it last week.

“We will take it. We will keep it. We will cherish it,” he said.

Trump claimed that “a lot of jobs” will be created throughout the region if an American acquisition occurs on destroyed lands.

“I think it might be diamond,” he said, adding that he now believes that the United States “above” has to threaten other countries to participate.

King Abdullah sat quietly next to Trump, where the president repeated a proposal that would raise contracts from the existing American policy and could reach the point of violating international law, which prohibits the transfer of forced population.

Jordan has rejected this idea so far as a basic violation of international law, but quietly expressed their concerns about the Kingdom’s ability to absorb large numbers of Palestinians.

On the possibility of taking additional Palestinians, King Abdullah said that the “best for everyone” will be necessary. He said that Jordan would take 2000 Palestinian children well.

However, Trump seemed not affected and repeated his position that he expected Jordan and Egypt to play a role in Palestinian housing.

“I think we will have a plot of land in Jordan. I think we will have a plot of land in Egypt,” Trump said. “We may have another place, but I think when we finish our conversations, we will have a place where they will live with great happiness and safety.”

After the meeting, King Abdullah on X wrote that the meeting was “based” and that “his first commitment is Jordan, to its stability and the welfare of the Jordanians.”

But he made his country’s concerns clear that Trump’s suggestion.

“I repeated the fixed center in Jordan against the displacement of the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank,” he said. “This is the unified Arab position.”

He added: “The rebuilding of Gaza without removing the Palestinians and addressing the terrible humanitarian situation should be a priority for everyone.”

Jordan is already home to millions of people from Palestinian refugees who were forced from the land that became Israel in 1948, along with those whose roots lie in the east of the Jordan River.

The country has also absorbed waves of refugees from Syria, and relies heavily on American economic and military assistance.

The United Nations has warned that any forced displacement of civilians from the occupied territories is strictly prohibited under international law and “an ethnic cleansing.”

Trump on Tuesday seemed to avoid a question about this United Nations warning.

“We take them to a beautiful site where they can get new homes, where they can live safely, as they can have doctors, medical and all these things,” he said.

King Abdullah said during the meeting that the matter will be discussed and that both sides must “wait for the Egyptians to present ideas.

The deal with Egypt is believed to be a proposal for future rule in Gaza, with the support of other Arab countries as a way to face the Trump plan.

Although it is still formulated, it is believed that the proposal can include a local administration of technocrats derived from the Palestinians in Gaza, without belonging to the factions, including Hamas.

Since it revealed for the first time the American proposal during a press conference last week alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump has repeatedly doubled on his plan to Gaza, saying that he was “committed to buying and possessing.”

In an interview with Fox News Broadcast earlier this week, Trump said that Gaza will be resettled by two million people and they have no right to return.

“They will not do it, because they have a much better housing,” he said. “I am talking about building a permanent place for them.”
