Up to 1,400 people in anti -government protests last year in Bangladesh, most of them by the security forces, the United Nations is estimated.
The United Nations human rights investigators accuse Sheikh Hasina From the brutal response that they warn can rise to “crimes against humanity”.
They found an “official policy of attack and oppression of anti -government demonstrators and sympathizers,” calculated to adhere to power against the mass opposition.
Sheikh Hasina, who was in his post for 15 years, escaped from a helicopter to India shortly before the crowd stormed its residence.
Thousands were wounded in the worst violence in Bangladesh since the war of independence in 1971.
The protests led by students against classes in civil service jobs escalated into a movement worldwide to topple Mrs. Hasina and her party in the Awami League after a brutal police campaign.
United Nations investigators have documented the shooting of an empty group of some demonstrators, the deliberate distortion of others, arbitrary arrests and torture.
Children were also targeted – the report estimates up to 13 % of 1,400 people who were killed.
The report requested the leader of the Acting Bangladesh, Mohamed Younis.
While most violence is attributed to the government security forces, it raises concerns about the attacks on those who are considered supporters of the previous government, and against some religious and ethnic groups.
