Vital drugs due in the country after year’s delay

The World Health Organization said that people affected by leprosy in Nigeria should be able to obtain vital medications to treat the disease for the first time in the end of this week.

Those who said that she had asked Nigeria to raise the new test policy for a short period and expects medicines to arrive from India on Sunday.

The leprosy is healing with a mixture of various antibiotics, but if they are left without treatment, the health of patients can deteriorate with sores and nerve damage that causes abnormalities.

Treatment can last between six and 12 months.

But due to the lack of drugs in Nigeria, patients were sent to the home from hospitals. Also, the medications suppress this transmission increases the risk of the disease.

Dr. Smimo Macheliza, public health expert and medical advisor in the Nigerian branch in the leprosy mission, highlighted the urgent need for the drug.

“We have thousands of newly diagnosed leprosy patients across the various cities waiting for this medicine.”

“The faster we have [the drugs]”Whenever these people are currently suffering, their move continues because they are not treated,” said Dr.

Reuters news agency spoke to one woman in a hospital in the state of Nashrawa, who said her condition became much worse because she was unable to get a mixture of drugs.

All fingers of Moses and her legs were cleared. “Before last year, my surgery was healed, but it is now worse. The pain is worse,” Mrs. Moussa was quoted as saying.

Nerve damage may be irreversible.

The Nigeria Pharmaceutical Authority has provided new regulations for drugs aimed at treating the import of fake drugs and sub -treatment.

In recent years, many medications have been called for their failure to meet safety standards.
